Helping schools to innovate, evolve and thrive inclusively.

Creating long term & effective change.

We all recognise that change is not easy but it is both an essential and beneficial process. Understanding exactly what needs to change in your school community, and how to effectively instigate that change can pose a greater challenge than dealing with the change itself, and this is where I can assist you. Using evidence based methods such as the appreciative enquiry model, coaching for change, and provision planning strategies I will guide you and your team toward making meaningful change that meets my three Rs for an inclusion revolution: Relevant, Results focused, and just Radical enough to suit your context and situation without causing turmoil for your school community.

There is no single solution that can be applied '“across the board” to remedy and repair gaps in existing Inclusive practices, and keeping this in mind I approach each new context with my eyes and ears wide open to the existing possibilities, potential and practicalities to pave a way forward that will be both wonderful and workable for all involved.

If you are interested in the advice of an experienced educator and Inclusion specialist who marries new ideas and fresh approaches with the good old "tried and true" then I encourage you to contact me to discuss the ways we could work together for the good of your whole school community.

Services

Support for School Communities

As an Inclusion advisor and mentor, I play a pivotal role in providing tailored support for school communities to foster inclusive environments. I begin by conducting comprehensive assessments to understand the unique needs and challenges of the school community. This involves collaborating with educators, administrators, students, families, and other stakeholders to gather insights and perspectives. Based on my findings, I develop customised strategies and action plans to promote inclusion and address specific areas of concern.

I provide ongoing guidance and training to educators on implementing inclusive practices, adapting curriculum and instruction to meet diverse student needs, and creating supportive classroom cultures. Additionally, I facilitate workshops and professional development sessions for school staff to deepen their understanding of inclusion and develop skills in areas such as personalised instruction, universal design for learning, and behaviour management. I also offer support in engaging families and community partners in the inclusion process, fostering collaboration and mutual support.

“With Dorthe’s advice and guidance we were able to design and implement a fully inclusive school wide policy.”
